Tom - at his place - amsterdam

Tom was our last night couchsurfer. He lives in what once used to be an office and he explained us the rules of anti-squats, but I probably did not understand the whole system.

Viola, Rob - Public Library - Amsterdam

Rob lives in Amsterdam since last September, where he is working for Heineken. Viola was there visiting him. We spent a lot of time inside the beautiful public library. Outside it was so heavily raining that they definitely needed our (mine and Alice's) brand new muji military raincoats. I forgot mine at his place (please send it to me!).
I made him discover that there is a sort of door between his bedroom and the stairs. Really, he had never noticed it before.

Paolo, Alice, Melissa - just a bar - amsterdam

Paolo and Melissa were flying to Kenya, but stopped in amsterdam for the night. We just needed an empty bar and we found it. They were freezing cause the only had leather jackets with them, but we laughed a lot.
Thanks to Alice for being such a good fellow traveller.

Yair, Amir - at Yair's place - Amsterdam

Yair accepted our couchsurfing request at 5.35 am, we already were at Linate airport and we were super happy, since we still had no place to stay. Reaching his house in the dark was kind of scary, but this effort was worth: it has been the best couchsurfing I've ever done. Both Yair and Amir come from Jerusalem and they are great people I hope to meet again in this life.

one of my life objectives is now that of going back to Yair's place to catalogue all the books accumulated in that incredible flat by him and all the people that lived there before.

met on 1st november

Cecilia's parents - Bioesserì - Milano

I woke up, they were here visiting my flatmate and they invited my out for lunch. Yes - what's more is that the restaurant was the organic one next to where we live. They were really nice and interesting. Thank you!

Edo - cape town - milano

I had to leave to Amsterdam the same night with Alice and after almost 50 couchsurfing requests we still had no place to sleep. I met Edo and suddenly remembered that he spent one year in Rotterdam, maybe he had acquaintances in Amsterdam! He was very kind and wrote an e-mail to a guy that he met during an ukulele festival (he plays ukulele), but the guy unfortunately could not host us because he had no heating in his flat.
Edo has a cinema blog: fast goose. worth reading.

Gloria, Roberto - hangar bicocca - milano

We queued together to "experience" the Tomas Saraceno installation On Space Time Foam, it was more or less 8 pm. In the end we discovered that we should have waited for at least another 2 hours to go upstairs and access the whole structure. We just entered and we saw it from below.
Gloria and Roberto work at Galleria Zero in Milano.

Ceci - bicocca - milano

perfect sunny-but-not-hot saturday afternoon.
"Ceci, what about going to hangar bicocca by bike?" "ok"
I like people that simply answer yes. Probably because I do not simply answer yes.
Dreaming about a world without cars. No, not without cars. A world where cars are used only when strictly needed.
We went where we had to go by bike and now our asses are harder than yours.

Giulia and - - via paolo sarpi, milano

Giulia and I definitely know each other, but we have only one common facebook friend that is not for sure the link. We are sure we know each other, but we come from different places, she is far younger than me, we studied different things, she moved to Milano only few months ago. So, we probably do not know each other, but:
- we've both been to Cambridge (but in different years) and we both had a lot of money stolen  by somebody on the street
- we discovered that in the past we both had a crush on the same boy from Parma (she is from Parma)

Jeong - PanePasta

Jeong comes from Seoul and she travelling around Europe. She arrived in a rainy Milano, on monday morning: all shops were closed and she had no umbrella. She went for a walk on navigli, but were empty because they needed to be cleaned (at least i think so).

Cami - in my car - Brescia

For my mother she has always been and will always be "Cami, the one who smokes so many joints". She's one of the easiest-going people ever met, she does not talk that much, she laughs.
Saturday afternoon in Brescia, after so much time. My brother just woke her up and she joined us.
He tried to convince her buying a video camera to film weddings and get paid for that, but she was not convinced at all.

when you need a brother and the brother calls you "can i sleep at your place for tonight? i have things to do in milano".

when you realize that your brother and your dog look like each other

met on 23 september

Radiohead concert in Florence, opened by Caribou.

as always, couchsurfing revealed itself being an astonishing resource.
Our host, Cosimo, was really easy going and friendly. His house was maybe a bit too much green, but it was a huge new flat.

x, albi, emily - Foresteria - Milano

Foresteria is the name of the flat in Isola where 7 friends of my flatmate Alice are living.
Emily (that does not live there, they are seven boys) comes from Canada and is babysitting a six years old girl with strong sexual impulses.

met on 15 september

Alis, Ventu, Paola - Leoncavallo, taxi - Milano

I love Alis. She is a strong, determined, energetic person. We went at Paola's amazing place for a party
interrupted by easily irritable neighbours and then we went all together to leoncavallo.
There at the the end of the night I met Ventu, that usually complains about music, but yesterday he was super happy. Unfortunately I lost him and also part of my mind because I think that I am too skinny or too old.

met on 14 september

Bazaar Wear moved to corso Martiri, 27. Just 2 numbers after the old one.

She searching a place for her cute dog and I am convincing my mum to take her as a sister to our Achille.

Jim - Garden K - Milano

Jim is super super!
He works in a great shop in via Vigevano - Garden K - and you should go visiting him there.
He is from Brescia too, but we actually met for an ice cream together last week and then we had

a perfect pavement dinner out of Pane Pasta
from 9.30 pm to 6.30 am, with beautiful people and loads of things to say.
Nobody in our neighbourhood complained, because we were around 12-15 people, but always veryveryveryvery polite and quiet!
I unfortunately have no pictures.

we finally said goodbye to our weekend on sunday night
Ellie, Kavy, Alice, Dino - Darsena

met on 7 september

Stefania - Pane Pasta

Stefania is living at my place just for two weeks. She used to live at my neighbours' place during the summer and I met her there. I like that she is living in my room, she is a worthy substitute.
She is a video producer and she is looking for jobs.

Carlotta - green line

I met her on friday night after almost 2 years and she's always ready for everything.
I was running with other friends to catch the last train to Lambrate, I asked her to join us later and she gave the perfect answer "can't I just join you now?". So we went dancing together, but we (almost) didn't dance at all. She is from Sarzana and we are going to cook great ligurian food together.
